Hi, my name’s Kevin Partner and I’m a British author of speculative fiction. Currently, I write mainly post apocalyptic science fiction, or, looked at another way, stories that feature the triumph of the human spirit over colossal odds.
Born in London during the swinging sixties, I’ve always been a writer, but my professional career began in the late nineties when I became a columnist for the UK’s leading tech magazine: PC Pro. I spent over twenties years creating monthly columns that taught me the value of a good editor and the importance of meeting deadlines – both good skills to have!
In 2012, I published my first non-fiction title which showed how to build an online business (based on my own experience running various companies in the noughties).
But my heart lies in fiction and, in 2016, I published my first comic fantasy novel, followed up by the remaining two instalments of the trilogy over the next eighteen months. I was, for a while, the impoverished man’s Terry Pratchett.
My first successful series was Robot Empire, a homage to the classic space opera of Isaac Asimov, but my big break was when I was offered the opportunity to work with the wonderful Mike Kraus writing contemporary post apocalyptic fiction. I wrote eighteen books with him before going solo in 2021.
Nightfall was my first solo post apoc series, and I’ve followed that with Future’s Fall which is set in the same universe but thirty-five years later. I’ve been delighted with how they were received. In the past year, I wrote my fiftieth novel. Glutton for punishment!
